Welcome to 1754 House

Built prior to 1736 by Anthony Stoddard, the house is believed to have opened in 1754 as an inn, welcoming travelers and locals alike. Located in the foothills of the beautiful Western Connecticut Berkshires, the Inn is the perfect get-away spot surrounded by rolling hills and gorgeous foliage.  Visitors can enjoy nearby swimming, boating, hiking, bicycling and golf amenities, or browse the antique shops, historical attractions and boutiques.  Whether you’re looking for a weekend get-away or planning a longer retreat, the 1754 House looks forward to welcoming you.

The main house features two levels with 9 guest rooms each with a private bath. All guests can meet and mingle downstairs in our front bar or restaurant.

As a guest in one of the oldest inns in New England, we offer all the modern comforts like free wi-fi, flat screen TV’s, hairdryers and luxury toiletries.
